THE USE OF HUMAN GUINEA PIGS IN THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NUCLEAR, CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL AND ETHNIC WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. The employment of chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction is not new. In the past poisoning well water and giving gifts impregnated with infectious diseases ethnic groups had little or no resistance to were just two of many methods of chemical and biological warfare. Modern research in medicine and science has opened up new possibilities for the manufacture of much more advanced and efficient weapons of mass destruction and there have been many reports of governments using their citizens, without their knowledge or permission, in human Guinea pig experiments in their never ending efforts to keep ahead in the arms race. The writer was first made aware of the possibilities of the research being done into more sophisticated weapons of mass destruction in the 1980’s when helping with medical research into the problems of transplant rejection and cancer research.. Suffering from aplastic anaemia, a condition which is manifest by destruction of the bone marrow and is caused by radiation, toxic chemicals and many prescribed drugs and is a precursor condition to cancer, it was apparent that those suffering from these conditions were not only not being given the information they needed to survive but were being used as human guinea pigs. Nuclear and chemical weapons are documented to cause aplastic anaemia. Although the writer did not have a transplant, whilst helping with research into transplant rejection a member of the team doing the medical research in 1989 admitted to him and his wife (a registered nurse) that the information on transplant rejection and genetics could also be misused for military purposes in developing ethnic weapons. The following are just some of the reports I have collected and have been sent to me on the use of human guinea pigs in military and medical experiments, which have come to light in recent years. 1982 “A Higher Form of Killing – the secret story of chemical weapons” by Jeremy Paxman and Robert Harris. P240 Notes that “it is theoretically possible to develop so-called ‘ethnic chemical’ weapons P241 Notes that as early as 1962 the US Army biological warfare laboratories had forty scientists on full time genetics research. P241 also notes that within 10 to15 years it would probably be possible to develop an infective micro-organism which could destroy the immune system. (aids?) 27.10.1986Daily Express newspaper reported a claim by an aids expert Dr. John Seale that there was a conspiracy of silence over his claims that the aids virus was artificially created. Many other reports since have noted the possibility that aids was man-made. Note. Myxomatosis was man made to kill rabbits. 5.10.1990 “The European” newspaper Romanian government allowing children between the ages of 1 and 5 who had aids to be used as human guinea pigs by Western medical researchers. 3.4.1996 “Independent” newspaper. Report on British government’s secret experiments on British troop in the 1950’s and 1960’s at Porton Down the government’s biological warfare establishment. 10.10.1985 Halifax Courier newspaper report that reports in foreign newspapers alleged that 23 Western nations including Canada and the USA were importing babies heads from India (were they from unwanted baby girls?) for research into ethnic weapons and nerve gases. The Swiss newspaper “La Voix Ouvriere” carried a picture of a decapitated head. 25.4.1989 BBC2 About the staggering potential for good or ill of genetic engineering. 2.10.1993 The Pharmaceutical Journal. Article on page 454 on the “Variations in drug metabolism and The article adverse reactions” How genetics and common mutations could predispose to various diseases notes differences in effects on Asians, Caucasions, Canadian Eskimos, Egyptians and Moroccans etc. Effects of Phenothiazine drug/herbicides causing Parkinson’s disease. 23.101994 SKY TV Discovery Channel US Edgewood Military Experimental viruses through US Establishment in 1950’s and 1960’s spreading city sewers and by car exhausts and observing the number of people killed and made ill. Also in the same programme experiments on servicemen with LSD drug etc. 1990 Book by Catherine Caufield on “Multiple Exposures” The Chronicles of the Radiation Age. P136 In 1945 The US nuclear installation at Hanford secretly released 340,000 curies of radioactive iodine, the official figures for the accident at Three Mile Island was 15 curies. P137 In one planned experiment in December 1949 5,500 curies of radioactive iodine was released over eastern Washington and Oregon with no attempt to warn civilians. P219 In 1958 John Dunster who designed Windscale’s discharge programme in the UK said the intention had been to discharge fairly substantial amount of radioacivity as part of an organised and deliberate scientific experiment.Since 1952 Windscale (Sellafield) has discherged over a quarter of a ton of plutonium into the Irish Sea. 1926 Anti-malarial Drug Panaquine introduced. This drug is no longer in use but it has side-effects causing fatal blood disorders and was more toxic to black races. 12.6.98 “Daily Telegraph” Article on the former South African apartheid government’s attempts to find a bacteria to kill black people or make them infertile. 6.7.1995 “Bella” Magazine reporting on a TV Channel 4 programme on the using of 1000’s of hospital patients in the U.K. in radiation experiments. Injecting the placenta’s of pregnant women with radioactive materials to observe the effects on the babies after birth. Taking of bones of dead babies for research (radiation destroys bone marrow) and withholding babies bodies from families wanting to bury their children. There were many other reports of these experiments in several newspapers and on TV. 6.7.1996 “Eastern Eye” newspaper reporting on radioactive chapattis used in nuclear tests on sick Asian women. The UK nuclear laboratory at Harwell delivering the radioactive food to the homes of the Asian women who were unaware they were being used as human guinea pigs and were told the food was special for their illness. 7.3.94 Panarama UK TV Documentary that America is finally waking up to the horrors it has inflicted on thousands of its own people to stay ahead in the arms race. Talking to a doctor who inflicted lethal doses of radiation on people. 24.11.1995 “Yorkshire Post” newspaper. A report about a 19 year old naval airman who agreed to take part in experiment in exchange for two days leave at the biological warfare establishment at Porton Down and how his health has been permanently damaged 1.1.1989 Observer Sunday” newspaper. A report on a banned drug being tested on children in third world countries. The drug, dipyrone, a pain killer was banned in many countries as it caused aplastic anaemia and agranulocytosis (the equivalent of drug induced aids). 7.4.1996 “Sunday Telegraph” newspaper. The UK government’s chemical and biological warfare establishment to be renamed “Protection and Life Sciences Division”. The report goes on to also gives details of 300 men suing the Government over human Guinea pig experiments at Porton Down in the 1950’s with the chemical weapon Tabun GA gas. 31.7.1995 “The Age” Australian newspaper. Report on at Least 400 soldiers used as human Guinea pigs in Australian mustard gas experiments during world war two. One soldier has leukaemia. Mustard gas is documented to cause damage to the bone marrow which is a precursor condition to leukaemia. 13.4.1994 “The European” newspaper. Report on experiments on hospital patients in the US feeding radioactive meals to handicapped children and tests with radiation on pregnant women and x-rays on testicles. The article asks the question “what guarantees have we that such experiments are not still going on. Other reports show that these experiments continue and the writers experience confirms that this is so. May 1990. Letter in “The Guardian” from 3 doctors at Hammersmith Hospital, London, warning of the side-effects of using neutron treatment for cancer. Neutrons cause very rapid destruction of the bone marrow, the neutron bomb, or dirty bomb as it is called, is designed to kill people by destruction of the bone marrow (aplastic anaemia) without the extensive damage to buildings of other atomic bombs. 22.5.1990 “Daily Mail” newspaper report on the terrible side-effects of the neutron machine at Hammersmith Hospital used for cancer treatment. (were patients being given radiation induced aplastic anaemia so they could be used as human guinea pigs?). 29.6.2000 Found on internet a Yahoo report of x-ray failures at Hammersmith Hospital which could have affected patients safety. The report says the four staff would “blew the whistle” were not victimised afterwards. 24.11.1994 “The Guardian” Report on the Japanese Government’s experiments in a germ warfare laboratory with 20,000 people during world war two,including American prisoners of war. The Japanese finally admitting the existence of its infamous germ warfare unit 731. The US Government giving immunity from war crimes to the Japanese in exchange for records of the experiments. 12.1.94 “Bella” magazine for women. Report on a hospital using a woman in a radiation experiment for cancer in 1987 without her knowledge. 27.1.89 “The Guardian” newspaper. Report on “Oranon Laboratories, a drug company stopping the Committee on Safety of Medicines warning doctors of the dangers of a drug made by them which had side-effects including the blood disorder agranulocytosis (drug induced aids). 2.11.1997 “The Telegraph” Report on dozens of servicemen used in guinea pig experiments at UK Government’s chemical and biological warfare establishment at Porton Down. They were told they were helping in research into the common cold. 16.11.1997 “The Sunday Telegraph” Admission by Defence Secretary George Robertson that the UK Government had sprayed germ warfare simulants from aircraft over many areas of southern England during the 1960’s and 1970’s. 13.10.97 SKY News University students used in drugs testing to help pay their debts. Two students recently died due to side-effects. 3.9.99 “Private Eye” magazine . Report on death of Ronald Maddison in 1953 after exposure to the nerve chemical sarin at the U.K. Governments chemical and biological warfare establishment at Porton Down. 20.8.1999 “The Times” report on police investigation into death of a serviceman at Porton Down and also into another death. 21.8.1999 “The Times” newspaper report on 1000’s of ex-servicemen used in experiments at Porton Down. The report says some files will be available back to 1916 when the tests began. 17.1.1999 “The Sunday Times” newspaper report that ethnic weapons officially recognised. The report includes information that Israel was working on a weapon to harm Arabs and not Jews. 26.3.1999 “The Guardian” newspaper report on a South African Dr Basson, head of that country’s chemical and biological warfare programme on charges of poisoning of more than 200 black people. 17.6.1996 “Daily Mirror” newspaper. Defence Secretary in UK admits servicemen used in radiation experiments at Porton Down. 1.11.1998 “Sunday Telegraph” Report on millions of people across Britain secretly sprayed with a toxic chemical. Ministry of Defence admits doubts about safety of the experiments. South and West of England from Newcastle-on-Tyne to Cornwall exposed. 1933-56 A medical paper from Charlettsville, Virginia, USA. By D.H.Mohler MD & B.S.Lepvell MD. A study on 196 patients with aplastic anaemia which the paper notes can be caused by mustard gas (it can also be caused by nuclear weapons) The paper notes of the 196 only six (3%) were negroes. 22.1.1999 “The Guardian” newspaper report that (at last) the B.M.A. warning on genetic research being misused to manufacture ethnic weapons. 24.11.1996 “Sunday Mirror” newspaper report that the Ministry of Defence in the UK admits that volunteers were exposed to radiation experiments at Harwell, Porton Down and Aldermaston. 3.12.95 “The Telegraph” newspaper report on an RAF base surrounded by a cluster of cancer cases may have been deliberately contaminated. 24.11.1996 “The Observer” newspaper reports that Britain has been conducting radiation tests on human guinea pigs for at least 40 years and that the tests continue 24.11.1997 “The Sunday Telegraph” newspaper reporting on radiation tests on people carried out by the Ministry of Defence in the UK which stared 30 years ago. 24.11.1998 “The Age” Australian newspaper reporting on the US Government carrying out radiation experiments on 2300 humans during the cold war period. The experiments include injection people with plutonium. 7.2.199 9 “The Sunday Post” newspaper reporting once again a warning by the BMA that human gene research could lead to the development of a terrifying new weapon of mass destruction. 13.7.90 “The Guardian” newspaper report on the US Department of Energy admitted secret emissions from nuclear plants could have threatened the health of the population and could have caused cancer in children. 17.5.1998 “Sunday Telegraph” newspaper report on germ warfare being tested secretly by the Ministry of Defence on 1 million people along the south coast of England. 23.9.2000 “The Guardian Newspaper” An article in which it is claimed that US Scientists infected thousands of South American Indians with measles, killing hundreds, so they could observe the effects on primitive societies 30.1.2000 SKY TV Discovery Channel reporting on a US Government experiment on hundreds of negro men infecting them with syphilis and then observing the effects over the long term. 13.7.1997 “Sunday Telegraph” article “Atomic Waste Dumped in London’s Water for 50 Years”..Concerns of effects of dumping tritium and other radioactive materials in the River Thames. The UK Government was aware that the discharges could have a “measurable genetic effect” on the capital’s population (Note that the taxpayer subsidised restaurants at Westminster have for years supplied bottled spring water for M.P’s). 1995 March - Item on Internet from “Indian Country Today” by Grace Thorpe. “Radioactive Racism” About US Government offering to give some remote lands back to the Indians after it had dumped radioactive waste on it thereby using tribal sovereignty to bypass state environmental laws. This after attempting to destroy Indian sovereignty of their lands for centuries.(continuing genocide of the indians?). 30.1.2000 SKY TV. News President Clinton apologised on TV to thousands of Americans injured when used by the US Government in radiation experiments over many years. He also apologised to the relatives of those killed in these experiments. He stated the US Government are aware that these experiments were wrong and admitted that they knew they were wrong at the time they were carried out. 10.5.2005, Guardian Newspaper, Wrote an article an called "Israeli hospitals used old and mentally ill as drug test guinea pigs". It describes how the elderly, children and mentally infirm have been used as guinea pigs in medical experiments, without the permission of their legal guardians, according to the countries main government watchdog. Surprising really, and particularly sensitive in Israel because of the horrors inflicted on Jewish Prisoners of Auschwitz by its Nazi camp doctor, Josef Mengele. Having been used in numerous such experiments myself, in the UK, which caused my disability, I still find this still upsets me nearly 20 years on! Edward Priestley 16.7.2005. The above is by no means all the references I have on the above subjects but it shows clearly that civilians and servicemen have been and are still being used in thousands in human guinea pig experiments to keep their governments ahead in the arms race and that there is a strong element of racism in many of the experiments. There have been numerous other reports of governments using their own citizens as human Guinea pigs since I wrote this in 200 and one is worth adding to the list. BBC RADIO 4 documentary programme 30.8.04 6pm U.K. time. This was a programme exposing that 1000’s of children and babies in orphanages (Catholic) have been used in the U.S.A. Northern Ireland and the U.K with everyone’s knowledge and consent being used in drug trials done by international drug companies. The programme interviewed nuns and others who were present at the trials. It was stated in the programme by one doctor that although these trials have now stopped children and babies from third world countries were now being used in drug trials and this was cheaper than using animals. |
